As some of you know, my dad is a photographer also. He has an amazing eye and talent. Recently he has been exploring infrared photography. My wonderful sister-in-law Karin is riding for her Uncle in the Pan-Mass Challenge!

Her story in her words:
To smile is to feel joy in the simplicity of the moment. To smile is to open your eyes and soul to the world and say life isn't so bad right now, and at this moment, everything is okay.
The Pan-Massachusetts Challenge raises money for life-saving cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through its Jimmy Fund. The main event of the fundraising effort is an annual bike-a-thon that crosses Massachusetts. Committed cyclists and volunteers as well as corporate sponsors and individual contributors are essential to the PMC meeting its goals. It also gives those involved in the event a chance to actively join the fight against cancer. I made a choice to ride the PMC this summer to help do my part in this fight. Cancer touches so many people and so many families, its hard to talk about it without someone having their own personal story. I'm riding the PMC for my hero, my uncle Geoff, who has always shown our family how to smile and laugh even through the worst of times, including his own struggle with cancer. Proud of the fact he's only missed two days of work since his diagnosis of stage 4 colon cancer, he has been living his life to the fullest, providing inspiration to all of those around him.

Back and ready to go!

Just back from the PPARI convention and I am pumped! Can not wait for the wedding/portrait season to start. The convention was amazing! Three days jammed packed with so much information and inspiration! Here is a pic of The Professional Photographers that ventured off Cape for this great weekend!

Lemonade from Lemons!

Here are a few shots of Newport that I took early Saturday morning due to the fact that the last person who had my hotel room, set the alarm for a few not so wonderful times through out the nite (I finally ripped the darn alarm out of the wall!!!) So not much sleep that nite, but lemonade was made from the quiet walk discovering Newport. Enjoy!!

PPARI

Off to Newport RI for a few days for some great education from the Professional Photographers of Rhode Island! Their convention rocks this year with three full days of top notch photographers coming from around the country to share what they know! Speakers are Vickie Taufer "V Gallery - Unplugged" on Saturday, Lori Nordstrom "Passion with a Purpose" on Sunday and on Monday, David Jay "Weddings Creative Freedom. I am psyched! Not to mention that the convention in is the great city of Newport and the beautiful Hotel Viking!! A lot of my Cape photogs friends will be there so it is guaranteed a great time! Back Tuesday!

Last Chance for the Snow Man!

We finally got a little bit of snow this week, had only been waiting all winter for it. When I didn't have a child, I dreaded the snow on the Cape but now I look forward to getting some. Sledding, making snow men and snowball fights are some of the greatest childhood joys that someone living in New England can receive. As we tried out the hills at the local golf course, it was interesting to see that out of the large group that had assembled, Keegan was the only child. Many adults felt the wonders of the snow too and played hookie from work to sled!

Last week we took the family to Boston and stayed at the Seaport Hotel and visited the New England Aquarium and the Boston Museum of Science. Here are a few pics of the jelly fish exhibit at the Aquarium. SO cool and scary as some of these jellies were seen and felt off the shores of the Cape last summer.... enjoy!
